Honey
AYURVEDIC USES AND BENEFITS OF HONEY
In Ayurveda, Honey is known by various names across regions, including Makshika, Madwikam, Kshaudram, Saradham, Vantham, Varadi,
Bringavantham, and Pushparasolbhavam. It is highly valued for its therapeutic and nourishing properties.
According to the renowned Ayurvedic scholar Acharya Sushruta, mature honey helps balance the vitiated Tridosha (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha), while
immature honey may disturb this balance and is considered slightly sour in nature. Honey is also regarded as one of the best Yogavahi substances in
Ayurveda, meaning it enhances the effectiveness of other ingredients it is combined with without altering its own natural properties.
